So Long, Farewell...

A couple of weeks ago- Jason, Keet and I packed our bags, loaded up a Uhaul and took a 9 hr journey from Kansas City to Jonesboro, AR. What a whirlwind weekend.

The 98 degree sun beat down on Jason, his bro Aaron and friend Ty as they went up and down a flight of stairs carrying all of our belongings to a 17 foot truck. While we did have a ton of stuff, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be thanks to all the garage sales we've been having. It pays to get rid of junk. By the end of that day (father's day) we were cooked.

Saying goodbye to our 5th home in less then 5 yrs was tough. It was my favorite apartment by far and it held so many good memories-Jason passing the OAT, getting accepted into School.

9 months of pregnancy and of course, bringing Keet to his FIRST home.

That evening we had a mini Father's day celebration (post to come) and stayed the night at Patti's house. It was great to hang with family that we have grown so close to over the past 2 yrs in KC. Jason has really treasured the time he has been able to spend with his brothers the most and will miss them a lot.

I am so happy to have formed such great bonds with our niece and nephew-Ansley and Ethan. They are such special little ones. From Ethan's charming quirks, big brown eyes and Cheshire grin to Ansley's kind heart and sense of humor they are a bundle of fun! We will surely miss seeing them grow and change.

KC will be missed too. We loved living there. It was such a refreshing place to live after the dirty gray streets of NYC. While I can't say my job was the most glamorous, I did make some great friends that I will keep forever. We Bought our first car.

Saw two friends get married. Discovered the song "Christmas in Kansas City". Jason reconnected with an old pal. Saw Stevie Wonder, Jason Mraz, Martin Sexton and James Taylor in concert. The birth of our niece.

Called 911 while a lady tried to jump from a bridge. Had a wreck. Saw 2 lines on a pregnancy test.

The list goes on and on...

As the tires hit the pavement and the sound of my baby's sleepy breathing filled the car, my heart swelled with thankfulness that we had crossed paths with a place that helped us form such meaningful memories but also graciously propelled us forward to new opportunities.

I am sad to leave but happy to go. So Long, Farewell...Until we meet again.

4 months

Dear Keeton,

You are four months old. This past month has been an eventful one.

*We had our 1st Mother's Day at the zoo. What a great day for our little family.

*You had your four month well visit and here are your stats: 14lbs 4 oz and 24.8 inches long
The doc upped the dose on your reflux meds so hopefully we can tame the beast that is your projectile vomit. We were also advised to start some neck exercises with you to loosen the muscles in your left side. You have a condition called Torticollis. Hopefully we will see a difference in a few weeks.

*Also, we just got back from a trip to Jonesboro to visit your Nan and Pop, Aunt Darbo and Uncle Randy, Graham, Griffin and NEW COUSIN Greer! He is a little sweety. I can't wait for the two of you to grow up together and be best friends. Daddy likes to joke that it's like an arranged marriage. He's crazy.

I think you've definitely won over your Nan and Pop. You were so smiley and happy and laughed out loud all weekend. Right now you are a Pop's boy though. He can get a laugh from you every time.

You also got to hang out with your other best friend Collier. She is such a little joy. She taught you how to stand up at the toy box. Mama was right behind you if you fell.

*And the biggest news of all...We are officially moving! Daddy got accepted to Optometry school in Memphis and starts August 30th. We will be shacking up with Nan and Pop from June 21st until August 1st then moving into our NEW HOUSE!!!

Hopefully this will be the place where you say your first words, take your first steps, have your first birthday and get a first sibling. While Daddy and I are a little nervous about moving, finding me a job and putting you in daycare (boo), we are so happy to be moving forward with our lives and building a solid future for you.
Keeton, you have no idea how much our lives revolve around you and your happiness.

Love,
Mama

Home Sweet Home!

Yay! We are in our new apartment and it is great. I would love to say that I slaved over boxes and through blood, sweat and tears put this place together myself but I would be lying profusely. I did the opposite of that. AKA: nothing. My wonderful mother drove up to Kansas City last Thursday and while Jason and I went to a Stevie Wonder concert, she single handily "signed sealed and delivered". (pictures on the wall and everything). We were floored when we walked in that evening.

I love my mom so much. She is one of the kindest and giving people I know. She will go to any length to make me and my sister happy. Jason and I are very blessed to have someone like her in our life. Of anyone, I hope shorty inherits my mother's love of family and generous spirit. Thanks Mom, I love you:)

Movin' on UP

We did it! We moved. The fourth apartment in four years. WOW! This one was tough too. I am very proud of Jason for all his hard work. He was a trooper indeed. I didn't do much of anything except sit on my behind. Awww the joys of pregnancy. The sad thing is I still managed to get sore. I don't really know how that happened. Also, Shout out to Jason's older bro Aaron for helping in a big way too. THANKS AARON! Here is me waving goodbye to the old place.

On to bigger (literally) and better things. Can't wait to set up the baby's room in the new place! SO PUMPED!!! I already get excited even though I am looking at a room full of boxes and junk. I'll post some pics of the new place once we get it looking semi-put together.
